In the past two years Northern Cyprus (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) experienced a true property boom due to the significant price difference in prices with the Southern part which is relatively uncommercialised and has unspoilt natural beauty. However, unresolved land issues, lack of local mortgage arrangements as well as lack of bank guarantees make the investment in property in Northern Cyprus more risky than in the South; unless you do your research beforehand. Only a small percentage of properties for sale offered in Northern Cyprus have safe, internationally recognised, Title Deeds (the land was not involved in 1974 conflict and is not subject to dispute), such properties are generally more expensive, however still significantly cheaper than in the South.
